Several members met at London Road Methodist Church in Horsham for a talk by Brighton based organ builder P W Christian. He discussed some of the common issues affecting the instruments we play, not least of which is the efficiency of new heating systems in churches! The desire to be warm it seems comes often at the cost of deterioration of the organ. Mr Christian told us that these effects can be seen in a very short space of time. He also told us of some of the effects of cone tuning on the pipe work and how sometimes this form of tuning can be detrimental to the pipes.

After a short refreshment break the AGM followed, and then the organ was available to members. It is a beautiful Bevington organ Dating from 1887 with some very lovely stops.
